  • Twins vs. Twins: My Twin Sis and I Test MK & Ashley Makeup

    olsen

I've always been jealous of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Namely, the fact that they were both millionaires before they turned 18. The "Full House" twins run a ginormous corporation that churns out clothing, movies, and makeup for Walmart and other retailers.

But during my last trip to Walmart, I spotted an unusual MK-Ashley product in the beauty department, and I knew it had to be tested. And who better than me and my twin sister to take on the Olsen twins? It was war.

The product is the Mary-Kate and Ashley "On the Go Makeup Sheets." They are blotter-type sheets that somehow contain makeup pigment and that are supposed to be applied to your face somehow without looking like a clown.

So I picked up, for $4 each, the Blush and the Silver Eyeshadow. Lovelyish, I'm still waiting for my reimbursement forms, lol.

This is what the Silver sheet looked like. Basically, one of those oil-blotting tissues but with sparkly powder that gets on everything.

This is me and my sis when we're not subjecting ourselves to tween makeup!

My sis tried the blush first - it was awful! The sheets are hard to "aim" with, so you end up with disproportionate smears of pink on your skin. Then, when you try to rub it in, it doesn't blend well, so you get that lovely clown effect.

The eyeshadow was a little better, if maybe because the silver was less contrasting and heavy than the icky pink blush.

Me with the blush AND eyeshadow - ugh! not a good combo!

Again, the eyeshadow was a bit better. But, the sheets are just so hard to wield. The whole idea behind them is portability, but they're so annoying that a normal eyeshadow will take up just as much space in your bag and be a lot easier to use.

Sorry, Olsen twins, but these twins rate your On the Go Makeup Sheets with a thumbs down. Right now, they're On the Go on the way to my trash can.

Have you tried Mary-Kate and Ashley makeup, or other products? Would you try these?
